Every Major Newspaper is Telling us Funeral Costs Are Spiralling Out of Control

We know that Funeral costs are rising every year. It's well documented in the press. But with so many different providers it's 'difficult' to know exactly which one is best. That's where I help.

Why use an Independent Advisor for your PrePaid Funeral Plans?

Impartiality

I have no allegiance or preferred pre-paid supplier. We'll choose the best provider that suits your circumstances and situation.

Knowledge

Not all plans are the same. For example some come with doctors fee's whilst others don't. I'll help you make an informed choice.

Confusing Costs

The cost of pre paid funeral plans differs considerably. I'm here to ensure that you get what's best for you and your budget.

No Pressure

I won't pressure you, i'm here to give you just honest and open assistance.

How much does it cost to use my services?

I earn a commission with each prepaid funeral plan I sell. Because of this I do not charge clients to use my services. So not only do I give impartial advice, but it won't cost you a penny!

Reviews from people just like you...

"I have recently purchased a Funeral Plan through Mary and would like to say that she dealt with what can be a difficult subject for most people in a friendly but very professional manner. I felt completely at ease discussing my funeral requirements with her and was given several options from which to choose. She has kept in touch with me throughout the course of the purchase and has advised on other concerns pertinent to me. Thank you Mary."

2 Key Things to Watch Out For With PrePaid Funeral Plan Advisors

1
Textbox Section
Are they really independent?

Pre paid funeral plan advisors are often constrained to a single supplier. This means you wont get impartial advice, and you could up spending more money on benefits and features that you won't use. Before your appointment, ask them if they are independent and if they have access to lots of different plan providers? If not, be mindful that there are other pre paid funeral companies on the market who might have a better product offering for you.

Do they try and sell you other products?

Often pre paid funeral plan advisors have a portfolio of products that they try and sell to you (namely Wills & Trusts), because it's in their financial interests (not yours). Because I only specialise in funeral plans, you have peace of mind that I will only give you advice about funeral plans. I can of course recommend other reputable companies who will happily provide other services, if you need assistance in other legal & financial areas.

Why a prepaid funeral plan is a smart financial investment
Funeral costs are rising every year. While the average cost of a funeral in 2004 was £1,920, by 2014 it was £3,609*. That’s an increase of 88% – well above inflation. So in 2024, the average cost of a funeral could be over £6,800. With funeral costs rising every year*, a Prepaid Funeral Plan offers an easy way to pay for your funeral director’s services at a cost that’s fixed at current prices.

"Mary helped me to choose the best plan for my budget. She was really helpful and explained everything thoroughly. I would heartily recommend her."

Mr Oaten

“We wanted to relieve the burden of any potential debt for our children together with gaining peace of mind about our 'affairs' and we were advised to contact Mary Meacham an Independent PrePaid Funeral Plan Consultant. Mary visited with us at our home and made us feel at ease as to the processes of a funeral and all the associated fees, which was an eye-opener. Mary then went through in detail, what is available and how they work from a variety of providers. The process was made easy and we signed up for one of the plans which was appropriate to us. There was no pressure, just honest and open assistance. We have no hesitation in recommending Mary Meacham for making the process understandable and friendly.”

Things you may not know about pre paid funeral plans

Typical questions that customers ask me about pre paid funeral plans
Do medical conditions affect your plan?

Whereas life cover insurance companies are unlikely to accept you if you have a medical condition, funeral plans are completely different because they know we are all going to die at some point. So it doesn't matter if you have an existing condition, you will still be accepted.

Why don't I just take out whole of life cover?

With a whole of life policy, you keep paying until you die. Imagine if you live for another 30 years, how much life insurance you will have paid? This may quite often be considerably more than a pre paid funeral plan. With whole of life of life policies, if at any point you cease payment, your policy would lapse, cover would stop and you would lose all money invested to that point.

With pre paid funeral plans, the costs are fixed and you can either pay upfront or in instalments for an agreed number of years.

Are funeral plans just for the elderly?

No. Funeral plans can be purchased by anyone over the age of 18. The earlier you buy your funeral plan the cheaper it will be. If you wait 10 years from now, then expect pre paid plans to be considerably higher because funeral costs rise at an average rate of 8% per annum.

Can I choose a preferred funeral director?

Yes, with pre paid funeral plans every effort will be made to allocate your plan to your specified funeral director.
